Liz, had a couple of buyers that were looking for a duplex, and had been outbid on a couple of other duplexes.
I happen to have a duplex, so she asked around her office if anyone had any pocket listings, for a duplex and Charles Ramsey my realtor at the time, thought about me as a potential seller. So my duplex is not listed for sale, and Liz and Charles wanted to come over and present me with an offer for my building.
The offer was week in that the down payment was not 10% percent of the sale price ( this is why the housing bubble happened people buying houses they can't afford! ).
Here is the gotcha! The realtors wanted a 5% commission! I told them not a chance was I going to give them each well over 10k! I offered to pay either a flat commission or 2% which would have been about 4k each! Liz told me that she felt it was immoral to her clients to turn a deal down if she isn't getting a certain commission, yet she had to have 2.5% again this would have been over 10k!
Liz is like many realtors trying to make the most amount of money for the least amount of work! I wouldn't use Liz as a realtor as she is driven by getting her commission!
Needless to say we were never able to come to terms on a deal due to the high commission cost they were asking for!
Liz Lynn, I don't think your a bad person just that you have an over exaggerated since of self worth for demanding such a high commission for such little work! Oh yeah the couple that were actually making the offer, were selling a house that Liz was getting a commission from too!
